Kids! FAQs

What will my child learn in Encounter Kids?

Our goal is to help your child grow spiritually, by teaching and discussing scripture in developmentally appropriate ways. We know they'll have fun each week as they learn about who God is through games, small groups, and video teaching.

How do I check my child into Encounter Kids?

On your first visit, look for the NextGen Check-In area. If you can't find it, one of our volunteers will be happy to help you! At Check-In, you'll be welcomed by a NextGen volunteer eager to meet your family and show you how Encounter Kids works. To check your child in, we will need some information: an adult guardian's name, your child's name and birthday, your phone number, and any special instructions.

How does Encounter Kids keep my child safe and secure?

In Encounter Kids, safety is our highest priority! We have a secure check-in system at all locations. Upon check-in, you and your child receive matching identification stickers. Your child will need to wear their name tag sticker and you will need to keep the matching tag. At pick up, you'll show the Kids leader your matching tag in order for your child to be released from their classroom. Every Encounter Kids volunteer leader is screened, participates in a background check, and receives appropriate training from our staff. In the event that we need to contact you, we will send you a text message to the phone number provided during the check-in process.

I have a child with special needs. Is there anything I need to know before I check my child in?

If you have a child with special needs who might need a little extra support on Sunday, we would love to partner with your family to make your experience amazing. Please contact Kids! Director Megan Sager to create an individualized plan.
